Is there support for asynchronous calls or not?

Nov 26, 2012 at 10:39 PM

Hi I've read comments saying that there is no support for asynchronous calls here, http://stackoverflow.com/questions/4247161/silverlight-unit-testing-integration-in-vs-2010 last post

but then I read this post and it seems that he uses asynchronous in silverlight

http://agunit.codeplex.com/discussions/397893

Is there support for async or not,? If there is I would hihgly appreciate how to achieve it.

Thanks

In that discussion, it's for R# 5.1 and AgUnit 0.3.

In AgUnit 0.4 we switched to StatLight for the actual test execution, and that does support async tests (at the cost of test performance/speed).

The only issue is that there is no visual test surface, so that might give you some issues.
StatLight has an option to turn that on, but at the moment this is not exposed through AgUnit.
AgUnit doesn't have a settings screen yet where I can put that option.

If you need it right now, you'll have to create a custom build of AgUnit.

Ok thank you very much, I'll prove my luck with statlight.

Cheers!

Hi,

you can write your Silverlight tests using async if you use (like I do) the custom provider wrote by bennage (https://github.com/bennage/Raven-Custom-Silverlight-Unit-Test-Provider)

To have it working with agunit and statlight I had to rename the dll to XUnitContrib.Runner.Silverlight.dll to trick Statlight so it will run in "Custom Provider mode" (because this dll name is hardcoded in statlight).

Thanks I'll prove that too.
